e-logbooks recommends NotamPro for downloading, decoding and displaying NOTAMs
NotamPro® is a PC program, especially written for pilots, that will download the latest NOTAMs from the Internet,
decode any longitude/latitude co-ordinates and display them in an easy to interpret graphical form. The main
NotamPro screen is split into two side by side frames with a menu bar and tool bar at the top and a status bar
at the bottom. Clicking on the Download button will display a selection of descriptions put in by the user to
denote various web pages containing NOTAM information. Clicking on the button alongside an entry will download
that NOTAM data and display it in the usual text format in the left frame. The right frame will display a
map of your area and clearly show the location of each NOTAM with a red marker. Within moments it is
possible to get a visual image of the NOTAMs that may conflict with your intended route and those which
should be investigated in more detail. Clicking on any of the NOTAM markers will highlight the relevant text of
the NOTAM in the left frame. Double clicking any of the markers will place a unique number alongside it and the
relevant longitude/latitude within the NOTAM text making it easy to match the two together. Your whole route
can be checked in less time than it would take to decode and locate the first NOTAM longitude/latitude on a
map in the conventional way.
Buy it now from SOFTrain for £29.95 incl VAT.
